Description

A fun and colorful craft recipe for making ice chalk that is perfect for summer outdoor play and artistic expression.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Ice cube tray or muffin tin
  • Spoon for mixing
  • Baking sheet (optional, for easy transport)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of water with 1 cup of cornstarch. Stir with a spoon until you achieve a smooth consistency, resembling a thick paste.
  2. Divide your mixture into separate bowls if you want multiple colors. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix thoroughly until you achieve your desired color intensity.
  3. Carefully pour the colored mixtures into an ice cube tray or muffin tin, filling them to the top but avoid overflowing.
  4. Place the filled molds in the freezer and let them freeze for at least 240 minutes or until solid.
  5. Once frozen, gently pop out your ice chalk from the molds and head outside to start drawing on the pavement!

Notes

Customize colors and ingredients to your preference. Experiment with different food coloring combinations, and consider using edible glitter for sparkle!
