Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon of white school glue
- 1/2 teaspoon of corn starch
- 1/2 teaspoon of water
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon of food coloring (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon of vinegar
- Small mixing bowl
- Spoon or craft stick for stirring
- Gloves (optional)
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of white school glue and 1/2 teaspoon of corn starch. Stir until the mixture is smooth and uniform.
- If you want to add color to your bouncy ball, add 1/4 teaspoon of food coloring to the glue mixture. Mix thoroughly.
- In a separate small bowl, combine 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon of water. Stir until dissolved.
- Slowly pour the baking soda mixture into the glue mixture, stirring continuously.
- Quickly add 1/4 teaspoon of vinegar. The mixture will begin to fizz—this means the reaction is happening!
- After the fizzing settles, use your hands (wearing gloves if desired) to quickly gather the mixture and roll it into a ball.
- Place the formed ball on a paper towel and let it dry for about 24 hours.
- Once fully dried, test your bouncy ball’s resilience by dropping it from a height and observing its bounce!
