			- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- Food coloring (optional)

- Wooden skewers or string
- Clothespins or a similar tool
- Glass jar or container

Instructions
- Soak the wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to an hour, then coat with sugar.
- In a saucepan, mix 2 cups of sugar with 1 cup of water. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves completely.
- Remove from heat and add food coloring and flavoring extract as desired.
- Let the solution cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Pour the sugar solution into a glass jar and insert the sugar-coated skewer using a clothespin.
- Place the jar in a cool, undisturbed location and wait for 5 to 7 days for crystals to form.
