- 1/4 cup popcorn kernels
- 1 clear glass or jar
- Water
- 1–2 tablespoons baking soda
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Start with a clear glass or jar for visibility. Fill the jar halfway with water and add a few drops of food coloring, if desired.
- Carefully add 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels to the jar.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1/2 cup of white vinegar.
- Slowly pour your fizzy mixture into the jar with the kernels.
- Stand back and enjoy as the reaction causes the corn to rise and fall, creating a mesmerizing “dance.”
Notes
The dancing effect lasts for about 10-15 minutes. Consider swapping ingredients for unique effects or adding glitter for a festive look.
