- 3 tablespoons of Borax
- A heat-resistant container (like a glass jar)

Instructions
- Boil water: Heat 1 cup of water until it is almost boiling.
- Mix Borax: Add 3 tablespoons of Borax to the hot water. Stir until dissolved—you should not see any residue.
- Decide on shapes: If using string, tie a knot at one end and attach a pencil or stick through the other end to suspend it.
- Optional coloring: Add a few drops of food coloring to the solution and stir gently.
- Pour the solution: Carefully pour the Borax solution into your heat-resistant container.
- Suspend the string: If using, ensure it’s submerged in the solution without touching the sides.
- Wait and observe: Set the container in a quiet place undisturbed for several hours or overnight.
- Remove the crystals: Once the growing period is over, take the string or crystals out of the solution and let them dry on a paper towel.
- Admire your gems: Watch as your creations sparkle and shine, revealing the beautiful crystals formed!
