Description

Create beautiful suncatchers using blue crayons and wax paper for a fun and engaging craft activity.

Ingredients

  • Blue crayons (various shades)
  • Wax paper
  • Sharpener or grater
  • Household iron
  • Parchment paper
  • Scissors
  • String (optional for hanging)
  • Tape

Instructions

  1. Sharpen or grate several blue crayons to create shavings and mix different shades for depth.
  2. Cut two pieces of wax paper to your desired suncatcher size and place one flat on a heat-resistant surface.
  3. Sprinkle the blue crayon shavings evenly over the wax paper and experiment with different patterns.
  4. Place the second piece of wax paper on top of the shavings and lightly press down.
  5. Preheat the iron on a low setting and cover the wax paper sandwich with parchment paper. Gently press the iron over it for about 10-15 seconds.
  6. Carefully remove the parchment paper and allow the suncatcher to cool completely.
  7. Trim the edges into shapes like circles, hearts, or stars. Use tape or string to hang your creation in a sunny window.

Notes

Consider making a matching set of suncatchers with different colors to create a themed display. Use them as gifts for friends or family for special occasions.
