Description

A fun and educational DIY project that combines science, engineering, and creativity by building a balloon-powered car.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 balloon (any size or color)
  • 4 bottle caps (for wheels)
  • 2 straws (for axles)
  • 1 plastic or foam base (like a cut-up fruit container or cardboard)
  • Tape or glue
  • Scissors
  • A small piece of paper (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Cut your plastic or foam base to the desired size if necessary.
  2. Take the straws and poke them through the base, ensuring they are parallel and have enough space for the bottle caps.
  3. Secure a bottle cap on each end of the straw using tape or glue.
  4. Inflate the balloon and pinch the end without tying it.
  5. Tape the balloon to the top of the base with the open end pointing towards the back.
  6. Place your balloon car on a flat surface, release the balloon’s end, and watch it zoom off!

Notes

Customize your design with markers or stickers and experiment with different wheel sizes for varied performance.
