Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of water
  • 4 cups of granulated sugar
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Heat-resistant glass jar or container
  • A small pot
  • Spoon for stirring
  • String (optional for hanging crystals)
  • Pencil or stick (optional for securing string)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sugar solution by combining 2 cups of water and 4 cups of granulated sugar in a pot.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Add food coloring to your liking once the sugar solution is clear and stir until evenly distributed.
  4. Cool down the mixture slightly, then pour it into your heat-resistant jar after 15 minutes.
  5. Create the crystal base by dipping a string into the solution (if using) and anchoring it in the jar.
  6. Place the jar in a cool, undisturbed area to allow crystals to form over several days.
  7. Enjoy your crystals once they have reached the desired size!

Notes

Experiment with different colors and containers for unique crystal shapes. You can infuse flavor into your sugar solution for a tasty treat.
