Description

Ingredients

  • Sodium acetate (1/2 cup)
  • Distilled water (1 cup)
  • Microwave-safe container
  • Candy thermometer
  • Ice bath (bowl filled with ice and water)
  • Optional: food coloring or essential oils (for customization)

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe container, combine the sodium acetate with distilled water. Stir well until fully dissolved.
  2. Microwave the mixture for about 1-2 minutes or until it reaches around 200°F (93°C).
  3. Carefully remove the container and place it in an ice bath to cool without crystallizing. Monitor the temperature to drop to around 130°F (54°C).
  4. Once cool, gently tap or agitate the mixture to trigger crystallization.
  5. Observe as the liquid solidifies into crystalline shapes!

Notes

Consider adding food coloring for vibrant creations and essential oils for fragrance. Experiment with different molds for unique shapes.
