Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons baking soda
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon dish soap
- Food coloring (optional)
- Plastic bottle or container
- Tray or baking sheet
- Small measuring cup
- Funnel (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Volcano: Place your plastic bottle or container in the center of a tray or baking sheet. Optionally, build a volcano shape around the container using play dough, modeling clay, or sand.
- Add the Ingredients: Pour 2 tablespoons of baking soda into the container, then add 1 tablespoon of dish soap and a few drops of food coloring for effect.
- Create the Eruption: Using the funnel, pour 1/2 cup of vinegar into the container. Step back and watch the eruption!
- Enjoy the Show: Observe the fizzing and mixing colors, and experiment with different ingredient amounts to see variations!
Notes
Feel free to customize your volcano with different colors and scents, and add glitter for extra flair. Ensure adult supervision for children.
