  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Water: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat the Oil: In the same pot, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Sauté Onions and Garlic: Add chopped onions and garlic; sauté until translucent and fragrant (about 3-4 minutes).
  5. Add Bell Peppers: Stir in the diced bell peppers and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened.
  6. Add Tomatoes: Stir in the diced tomatoes, broth, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  7. Mix in the Pasta: Return the cooked pasta to the pot, stirring well to combine all ingredients.
  8. Heat Through: Bring to a simmer, allowing flavors to meld for about 5 minutes.
  9. Serve: Serve hot, topped with fresh herbs and grated Parmesan if desired.
