Description

A delightful and colorful frozen treat with fruity flavors and vibrant hues, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of fresh fruit juice (orange, raspberry, lime, etc.)
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp of lemon or lime juice
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Ice cream maker or a freezer-safe container

Instructions

  1. Juice Fresh Fruits: Squeeze or blend fruits to extract juice. Strain to remove pulp for a smoother sherbet.
  2. Mix with Water and Sugar: Combine 1 cup of fruit juice with 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of sugar in a bowl. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  3. Repeat for Different Fruits: Use various fruits for each color layer. Each layer will be a different flavor.
  4. Combine Juice Mixture with Cream: In another bowl, mix 1 cup of heavy cream with your juice mixture. Add 1 tbsp of lemon or lime juice for tanginess.
  5. Refrigerate: Chill each mixture for at least 2 hours for the best texture.
  6. Use Ice Cream Maker: Pour each flavor into an ice cream maker, churning according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Layer them in a freezer-safe container and use a spatula to swirl gently for a rainbow effect.
  7. Freeze Until Firm: Freeze for at least 4 hours or until solid.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk. Feel free to experiment with herbs like mint or basil for unique flavors.
