Instructions
- Juice Fresh Fruits: Squeeze or blend fruits to extract juice. Strain to remove pulp for a smoother sherbet.
- Mix with Water and Sugar: Combine 1 cup of fruit juice with 2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of sugar in a bowl. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Repeat for Different Fruits: Use various fruits for each color layer. Each layer will be a different flavor.
- Combine Juice Mixture with Cream: In another bowl, mix 1 cup of heavy cream with your juice mixture. Add 1 tbsp of lemon or lime juice for tanginess.
- Refrigerate: Chill each mixture for at least 2 hours for the best texture.
- Use Ice Cream Maker: Pour each flavor into an ice cream maker, churning according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Layer them in a freezer-safe container and use a spatula to swirl gently for a rainbow effect.
- Freeze Until Firm: Freeze for at least 4 hours or until solid.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk. Feel free to experiment with herbs like mint or basil for unique flavors.
