Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Stir well to ensure there are no lumps.
- In a separate saucepan, combine the water and vegetable oil. Add your desired food coloring to the mixture and stir it in.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir continuously to avoid lumps forming.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture constantly until it thickens and forms a ball, usually about 3-5 minutes.
- Once removed from heat, allow the dough to cool slightly. Knead it with your hands to achieve a smooth and pliable texture.
- Place the play dough in an airtight container. Store it in a cool, dry place for long-lasting fun.
