Description

A fun and customizable snack made from fruit puree and Kool-Aid, perfect for engaging the whole family in the kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fruit puree (e.g., applesauce, mashed bananas, blended berries)
  • 1 packet Kool-Aid drink mix (any flavor)
  • 2 cups sugar (or less, to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Blender or food processor
  • Spatula

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C).
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine the fruit puree, Kool-Aid drink mix, sugar, and lemon juice. Blend until well combined and smooth.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Pour the blended mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it evenly, about 1/8 inch thick.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 4 to 6 hours, or until the mixture is no longer sticky to the touch.
  6. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
  7. Use scissors to cut into strips or desired shapes.
  8. Roll up the strips individually in parchment paper for storage, or store them in an airtight container.

Notes

Adjust the sugar to your taste; you can substitute it with honey or agave. Mix different Kool-Aid flavors for unique combinations.
