Description

A fun and engaging project to create your own flavorful bubble gum at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup gum base
  • 1 tsp flavoring extract (like bubble gum, mint, or fruit)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Cornstarch (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Dust a clean surface with cornstarch to prevent sticking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the gum base and corn syrup. Microwave the mixture for about 30 seconds until softened.
  3. Stir in your chosen flavoring extract. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring for a fun twist.
  4. Gradually incorporate the powdered sugar, mixing well until the ingredients come together.
  5. Transfer the mixture to your prepared surface. Knead the gum for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  6. Form the gum into a log or shape it into individual pieces. Let it cool before attempting to chew or blow bubbles!

Notes

Store your gum in an airtight container to maintain freshness. It can last for up to two weeks, but it’s best enjoyed fresh.
