Description

A fun and engaging craft project that combines nature with art by creating colorful handprint butterfly trees.

Ingredients

  • Non-toxic washable paint (various colors)
  • Large piece of craft paper (white or light blue)
  • Green construction paper (for the tree)
  • Paintbrushes or sponge brushes
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Black marker or pen
  • Optional: Glitter for added sparkle

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by laying down newspapers or a plastic sheet and gathering all materials.
  2. Cut a trunk and branches from the green construction paper and glue the trunk onto the bottom center of your craft paper.
  3. Choose a paint color for the butterflies, dip one hand into the paint, and press it onto the paper to create the wings. Use a contrasting color for the second handprint, overlapping slightly at the center for the body.
  4. Once the paint is dry, use a black marker to add antennae and patterns on the butterfly wings.
  5. Allow the artwork to dry completely and optionally sprinkle some glitter on the butterflies for extra flair.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and textures to enhance the craft. For less mess, consider using cut-out paper shapes.
