Description

Create stunning crystal snowflakes using simple household ingredients, perfect for winter decorations or gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 3 tablespoons of borax
  • Pipe cleaners (white or any desired color)
  • A shallow dish or jar
  • String (optional, for hanging)
  • Scissors (for cutting pipe cleaners)
  • Pencil or stick (for suspending your snowflake)

Instructions

  1. Shape the pipe cleaners into a snowflake shape with several arms.
  2. Attach a string to the center and tie the other end to a pencil or stick.
  3. Boil 1 cup of water and gradually add 3 tablespoons of borax while stirring until fully dissolved.
  4. Carefully place your snowflake in the solution, ensuring it does not touch the bottom.
  5. Allow the snowflake to sit undisturbed for at least 6-8 hours (or overnight) to let crystals form.
  6. Once complete, remove and rinse the snowflake under cold water.
  7. Let it dry completely on a paper towel.

Notes

Customize your snowflakes with colored pipe cleaners or glitter for extra sparkle. Ensure proper storage to keep the crystals lasting longer.
