Create stunning crystal winter snowflakes using simple materials for a magical winter decor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup Borax
- 2 cups Water
- White or clear Pipe cleaners
- Glass jar or container
- Twine or string
- Pencil or stick (for suspending)
- Scissors
Instructions
- Take the pipe cleaners and twist them into a snowflake shape. Use 3 or 4 pipe cleaners for the base and snip ends for a neat finish.
- Boil 2 cups of water in a pot and gradually add 1/2 cup of Borax, stirring until completely dissolved.
- Tie a piece of twine around the center of your snowflake and balance it on a pencil across the top of the jar, allowing the snowflake to hang inside.
- Pour the Borax solution into the jar until the snowflake is submerged and set it aside in a cool place.
- Leave it undisturbed for 6-8 hours or overnight for best results.
- Remove the snowflake from the jar, let it dry on a paper towel, and display your creation.
