Description

Create stunning crystal winter snowflakes using simple materials for a magical winter decor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Borax
  • 2 cups Water
  • White or clear Pipe cleaners
  • Glass jar or container
  • Twine or string
  • Pencil or stick (for suspending)
  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. Take the pipe cleaners and twist them into a snowflake shape. Use 3 or 4 pipe cleaners for the base and snip ends for a neat finish.
  2. Boil 2 cups of water in a pot and gradually add 1/2 cup of Borax, stirring until completely dissolved.
  3. Tie a piece of twine around the center of your snowflake and balance it on a pencil across the top of the jar, allowing the snowflake to hang inside.
  4. Pour the Borax solution into the jar until the snowflake is submerged and set it aside in a cool place.
  5. Leave it undisturbed for 6-8 hours or overnight for best results.
  6. Remove the snowflake from the jar, let it dry on a paper towel, and display your creation.

Notes
