- 1 cup of water
- 3 tablespoons of borax
- 1 clean plastic bottle or jar
- Pipe cleaners (white or colored)
- String or fishing line
- A pencil or stick (for suspending)
- A shallow bowl (to catch overflow)
- Scissors (if needed for pipe cleaners)
Instructions
- Shape your pipe cleaners into a snowman, creating two or three balls for the body and head.
- In a shallow bowl, boil 1 cup of water and stir in 3 tablespoons of borax until dissolved.
- Use a string to tie around the top of the snowman and suspend it in the jar using a pencil or stick.
- Carefully pour the borax solution over the snowman and let it sit undisturbed for several hours or overnight.
- After the crystals have formed, gently remove the snowman from the solution, rinse, and let it dry.
Notes
Add food coloring for color, use glitter for sparkle, or create multiple snowmen in different sizes.
