Instructions
- Shape the Pipe Cleaners: Twist and shape your pipe cleaners into the desired ornament design (like stars, hearts, or trees).
- Attach a String: Tie a piece of string to the top of your ornament for hanging.
- Boil Water: In a kettle, bring water to a boil (1 cup for every 3 tablespoons of Borax).
- Mix Borax: In a glass jar, add 3 tablespoons of Borax for every cup of boiling water.
- Add Color: If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the solution for a colorful effect.
- Submerge the Ornament: Carefully place your shaped pipe cleaner into the solution.
- Suspend it: Use a pencil or stick to suspend the ornament in the center, ensuring it doesn’t touch the sides or bottom of the jar.
- Let it Sit: Allow the jar to sit undisturbed for 6-24 hours, depending on how large you want the crystals to grow.
- Extract Ornament: Once satisfied with the crystal growth, gently remove the ornament from the solution.
- Dry It: Place on a paper towel to dry completely.
