Ingredients
- Borax (sodium borate)
- Water
- Clear jar or glass
- Pipe cleaners (heart-shaped)
- String
- Pencil or stick (to suspend heart)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Measuring cup
Instructions
- Prepare the Heart Shape: Take two pipe cleaners and shape them into a heart. Twist the ends to secure the shape.
- Set Up the Suspension: Attach a string to the top of the heart. Use a pencil or stick to suspend the heart in the jar. Ensure it doesn’t touch the bottom.
- Create the Solution: Boil 1 cup of water. Slowly add 3 tablespoons of Borax, stirring continuously until it dissolves. Add food coloring if desired.
- Pour the Solution: Carefully pour the Borax solution into the jar until the heart is submerged.
- Let the Crystals Form: Place the jar in a stable location and let it sit overnight or for 24 hours.
- Reveal Your Creation: Gently remove the heart and rinse with cold water to remove excess Borax.
