Ingredients

- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of hot water
- Food coloring (various colors)
- 1 tablespoon of alum
- Small jars or containers (glass or plastic)
- Wooden skewers
- Cotton balls or paper towels (for covering the jars)
Instructions
- In a heat-safe container, mix 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup of hot water until completely dissolved.
- Divide the sugar solution into smaller jars and add food coloring; stir gently.
- Insert a wooden skewer into each jar, ensuring it is submerged but not touching the bottom.
- Cover the jars with a cotton ball or paper towel to avoid dust contamination.
- Place the jars in a stable environment, check daily for crystal formation.
- Once satisfied with crystal size, remove the skewer and allow crystals to dry.
Notes
Customize colors and experiment with different ingredients for unique results. Store finished geodes in a cool, dry place.
