Description

Create beautiful Green Crayon Raindrop Suncatchers using old crayons to brighten your home and mood.

Ingredients

  • Green crayons (broken or leftover pieces)
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Cookie sheet or baking tray
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • String or ribbon
  • Optional: clear acrylic spray for a glossy finish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Remove the wrappers from your green crayons and break them into small pieces (about 1-inch shards). Place the crayon pieces evenly on your parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Place the cookie sheet or tray in the preheated oven. Allow the crayons to melt for 10–15 minutes, or until fully melted but not bubbling. Keep an eye on them!
  4. Carefully remove the tray from the oven using oven mitts. Let the melted crayons cool slightly until they start to harden but are still pliable. Use scissors to shape the melted crayon into raindrop shapes.
  5. After the suncatchers cool completely and harden, use a hole punch to create a hole at the top. Thread a piece of string or ribbon through the hole for hanging.

Notes

For added texture, incorporate small leaves or flower petals before melting. Experiment with different colors and shapes for unique suncatchers.
