Description

A fun and simple recipe for making glowing play dough that inspires creativity in children and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 tablespoons cream of tartar
  • Neon or glow-in-the-dark powder (available at craft stores)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Saucepan
  • Wooden spoon
  • Airtight storage container

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Stir until fully combined and there are no lumps.
  2. In a saucepan, mix water, vegetable oil, and food coloring (if using). Gradually stir in the dry mixture until well blended.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon until the mixture thickens and begins to pull away from the sides.
  4. Remove the dough from heat and let it cool slightly. Once it’s warm but manageable, knead in the glow-in-the-dark powder until evenly distributed.
  5. Allow play dough to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
