Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoons cream of tartar
- Neon or glow-in-the-dark powder (available at craft stores)
- Food coloring (optional)
- Large mixing bowl
- Saucepan
- Wooden spoon
- Airtight storage container
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Stir until fully combined and there are no lumps.
- In a saucepan, mix water, vegetable oil, and food coloring (if using). Gradually stir in the dry mixture until well blended.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon until the mixture thickens and begins to pull away from the sides.
- Remove the dough from heat and let it cool slightly. Once it’s warm but manageable, knead in the glow-in-the-dark powder until evenly distributed.
- Allow play dough to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
