Description

A fun and creative recipe to make edible fireworks that glow and sparkle, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Food coloring (neon colors recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Edible glow powder (such as quinine from tonic water)
  • Saucepan
  • Candy thermometer
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by clearing a flat surface and gathering all your materials. Lay out parchment paper on a baking sheet for cooling later.
  2. In a saucepan, mix together the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat, using a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature. Once it reaches 300°F, remove it from heat.
  4. Quickly stir in food coloring and glow powder, taking care with the hot syrup.
  5. Pour the candy onto the prepared baking sheet and shape as desired.
  6. Allow the candy to cool completely before breaking into pieces and storing in an airtight container.

Notes

Experiment with different glow powders, flavors, and colors for unique variations. Ensure to use food-safe glow ingredients.
