Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup white school glue
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup water
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Glow-in-the-dark powder
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon for mixing
- Parchment paper or tray for drying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of white school glue and 1/2 cup of water. Stir until well mixed.
- Add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the mixture, stirring to incorporate smoothly.
- Introduce your favorite food coloring into the mixture for vibrant shades. Sprinkle in a generous amount of glow-in-the-dark powder. Mix thoroughly, ensuring even distribution.
- Slowly add 1 cup of cornstarch to the mixture. Stir until it starts to come together. You might need to use your hands to knead the dough for a few minutes until it achieves a bouncy, pliable consistency.
- Turn the mixture out onto parchment paper or a tray. Pinch off small pieces and roll them into fun, irregular shapes.
- Allow the moon rocks to dry on the tray for several hours or until they feel firm. Once dry, try bouncing them gently or watching them glow in the dark!
Notes
Experiment with different food coloring combinations for unique hues. Adding essential oils can create scented moon rocks. Adjust the cornstarch for texture variations.
