Description

A hands-on activity that combines a volcanic eruption with a mesmerizing glow-in-the-dark effect, perfect for kids and adults alike.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • Glow-in-the-dark paint or powder
  • 1 tablespoon clear dish soap
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 plastic bottle or small container
  • 1 tray or large dish
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Small plastic toys (optional for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Volcano Base: Place the plastic bottle upright in the center of the tray and build a mountain around it using playdough or clay.
  2. Add the Glow Mixture: Mix glow-in-the-dark paint or powder with warm water and pour it into the volcano bottle.
  3. Incorporate the Eruption Ingredients: Add baking soda and a few drops of food coloring into the bottle, then mix vinegar and dish soap in a separate container.
  4. Trigger the Eruption: Pour the vinegar mixture into the volcano bottle and step back to enjoy the explosion! Optional: turn off the lights to see the glow effect.
