- ½ cup corn syrup
- ¼ cup water
- 1 packet of unsweetened flavored drink mix (e.g., lemonade or grape)
- 2–3 tablespoons citric acid
- Edible glow-in-the-dark powder
- Baking sheet or parchment paper
- Saucepan
- Candy thermometer
- Mixing spoon
- Small bowls for coating
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by clearing and cleaning your working area.
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir well until fully combined.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and heat until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), stirring continuously to prevent burning.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the flavored drink mix and edible glow-in-the-dark powder until completely mixed.
- Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it cool for about 30 minutes before breaking it into desired sizes.
- In a small bowl, mix citric acid with a bit of sugar. Roll each crystal in the mixture for a tangy finish.
- Once fully cooled, store in an airtight container until ready to enjoy.
