- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup Jolly Rancher candies (variety of flavors)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp gelatin (for glow-in-the-dark effect)
- Candy sticks or wooden skewers
- Wax paper
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
- Insert candy sticks or wooden skewers into the apples for easy dipping.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and light corn syrup.
- Heat over medium-high, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Let the mixture boil until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and add Jolly Rancher pieces, stirring until melted.
- Add baking soda and gelatin, mixing vigorously.
- Dip each apple quickly into the warm mixture, swirling to coat evenly.
- Allow excess candy to drip off and place on wax paper to cool.
- Once cooled, turn off the lights to enjoy the glow!
