- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cotton candy flavoring
- Food coloring (pink and blue)
- Edible glow-in-the-dark powder
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and cotton candy flavoring until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
- Divide the dough in half; add pink food coloring to one half and blue to the other.
- Fold in edible glow-in-the-dark powder to both mixtures as desired.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of both doughs, roll them into balls, and flatten them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookies are lightly golden around the edges.
- Allow to cool for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack; add sprinkles if desired.
Notes
For flavor, consider adding a pinch of cotton candy extract. Store any leftover dough in the refrigerator for up to a week.
