Description

Delightful cookies that shine under UV light, combining the nostalgic flavors of cotton candy with a visual twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cotton candy flavoring
  • Food coloring (pink and blue)
  • Edible glow-in-the-dark powder
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and cotton candy flavoring until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the dough in half; add pink food coloring to one half and blue to the other.
  7. Fold in edible glow-in-the-dark powder to both mixtures as desired.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of both doughs, roll them into balls, and flatten them on the baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookies are lightly golden around the edges.
  10. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack; add sprinkles if desired.

Notes

For flavor, consider adding a pinch of cotton candy extract. Store any leftover dough in the refrigerator for up to a week.
