- 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 cup water
- Fresh or dried flower petals
- Food coloring (optional)
- Cookie cutter (flower shapes)
- Clear containers or molds
- Spoon for stirring
- A small pot for heating water
- Plastic wrap (for storage)
Instructions
- In a small pot, combine 1 cup of water with 2 tablespoons of gelatin powder. Stir well until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
- Gently heat the mixture on low until it’s warm but not boiling.
- If using, mix in a few drops of food coloring and stir until fully blended.
- Choose your flowers and arrange them inside your clear container or mold.
- Carefully pour the gelatin mixture over the flowers until they are fully submerged.
- Allow the suncatcher to cool at room temperature for about 1-2 hours, or place it in the fridge for faster setting.
- Once set, gently remove the gelatin suncatcher from the mold.
- Use a ribbon or string to hang your suncatcher in a sunny window or place it on a well-lit shelf.
Notes
Experiment with different shapes and flowers to create unique designs. You can also add essential oils for a lovely scent.
