Description

A vibrant and fun project to create beautiful flower suncatchers using gelatin.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • Fresh or dried flowers (e.g., pansies, violets)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Cookie cutters or molds
  • String or ribbon (for hanging)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Baking tray

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water with gelatin and stir until dissolved. Add food coloring if desired.
  2. Place cookie cutters or molds on a baking tray and arrange flowers at the bottom.
  3. Pour the gelatin mixture over the flowers, ensuring they are submerged, and tap gently to release air bubbles.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours until set.
  5. Gently remove suncatchers from molds, using a knife if necessary.
  6. Thread a string or ribbon through the top for hanging.

Notes

Experiment with different types of flowers and colors. Use silicone molds for easier removal and consider adding edible glitter for sparkle.
