- 2 cups Boiling water

- A glass jar or cup
- Pipe cleaners (any color)

Instructions
- Bend the pipe cleaners into the desired shapes (stars, hearts, etc.).
- In a heatproof container, dissolve 1/2 cup of borax into 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved; it may take a minute.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture to achieve your desired hue.
- Tie a piece of string to your pipe cleaner shape.
- Attach the other end of the string to a pencil or stick, creating a hanging mechanism.
- Lower the pipe cleaner shape into the borax solution, ensuring it is fully submerged but not touching the bottom of the jar.
- Allow the setup to sit undisturbed for several hours or overnight.
- Once the time is up, carefully remove your crystal creation from the jar, rinse with water, and let it dry.
Notes
For best results, leave the crystals overnight to ensure optimal growth. Use boiling water for best dissolving of borax.
