Description

Create stunning galaxy crystals using eggshells and simple household materials, perfect for all ages.


Ingredients

  • Clean eggshells (halved)
  • Epsom salt or sugar
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Warm water
  • Small bowl
  • Stirring stick or spoon
  • Baking sheet
  • Paper towel or cloth

Instructions

  1. Prepare the eggshells by rinsing them and letting them dry completely.
  2. Place the empty halves on a baking sheet, opening side up.
  3. In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of warm water with 1/4 cup of Epsom salt or sugar.
  4. Stir until the salt or sugar is completely dissolved.
  5. Divide the crystal solution into separate small bowls for each color.
  6. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and stir gently.
  7. Carefully pour the colored solutions into the prepared eggshells.
  8. Place the baking sheet in a quiet spot, away from direct sunlight.
  9. Allow the eggshells to sit undisturbed for 24-48 hours until crystals form.
  10. Once formed, gently remove the eggshells from the baking sheet.
  11. Rinse off any excess material under running water and pat dry.
