Ingredients

- Eggshells (cleaned and dried)
- 3 tablespoons borax (sodium borate)
- 1 cup water
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Small bowls or cups for mixing
- Spoon for stirring
- Baking tray or protective surface for drying
- Optional: Glitter, sequins for extra fun
Instructions
- Prepare the eggshells by cracking them gently and rinsing until clean.
- Mix 1 cup of water with 3 tablespoons of borax in a bowl.
- Add several drops of food coloring to each cup with borax solution.
- Pour the colored solutions into each eggshell, filling halfway.
- Let the eggshells sit in a baking tray in a cool, dry area for at least 24 hours.
- Observe the beautiful crystals forming inside the eggshells after 24 hours.
- Carefully remove the eggshells and let them sit until satisfied with crystal growth.
Notes
Consider customizing colors and experimenting with different bases for varied effects. Store crystals in a dry location away from direct sunlight to maintain brilliance.
