Description

Create stunning flower oil preserves infused with herbs and flowers, perfect for drizzling or as thoughtful gifts.

Ingredients

  • Fresh flowers and herbs (e.g., lavender, rosemary, basil, chamomile)
  • High-quality olive oil or another neutral oil
  • Clean glass jars with lids
  • Cheesecloth or coffee filter (for straining)
  • A funnel (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients, choosing fresh, edible flowers and herbs that are free of pesticides.
  2. Wash and dry your glass jars thoroughly to prevent contamination.
  3. Layer the fresh herbs and flowers in the jars, pressing them down slightly.
  4. Carefully pour the olive oil over the flowers and herbs, ensuring they are fully covered.
  5. Seal the jars tightly and place them in a cool, dark area for at least 1-2 weeks, shaking gently every few days.
  6. After the infusion period, strain the oil using cheesecloth or a coffee filter into a clean jar.
  7. Seal the strained oil in a clean jar and label it with the infusion date and type of herbs or flowers used.

Notes

Experiment with different herbs and oils for unique flavors. Ensure that all flowers and herbs used are edible and free from pesticides.
