Description

Create a delightful foaming color eruption in a jar, combining science and creativity for a hands-on learning experience.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 clear jar or container
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dish soap
  • Various food coloring
  • Small container for mixing (optional)
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Tray or tablecloth (to catch spills)

Instructions

  1. Place your clean jar on the tray or tablecloth.
  2. Spoon the baking soda into the bottom of the jar.
  3. In a small container, mix a few drops of food coloring with a bit of water.
  4. Pour the tablespoon of dish soap into the jar over the baking soda.
  5. Slowly pour the vinegar into the jar over the baking soda and dish soap mixture.
  6. Step back and watch the foamy eruption!

Notes

Customize colors by mixing different food coloring combinations. You can add edible glitter for sparkle or adjust ingredient quantities for larger/smaller eruptions.
