Description
A fun and engaging DIY sensory play project that combines cornstarch and water to create a unique substance that behaves like both a liquid and a solid.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- Food coloring (optional)
- Shaving cream (optional, for fluffiness)
- Bowl for mixing
- Measuring cups
- Spoon or spatula for stirring
Instructions
- In a bowl, add 1 cup of cornstarch. If you want a fluffier texture, add about 1/2 cup of shaving cream (optional).
- Slowly pour in 1/2 cup of water and stir gently to combine.
- Use your spoon or spatula to mix until you achieve a smooth, gooey consistency. If the mixture is too dry, gradually add more water, one tablespoon at a time.
- For added fun, mix in a few drops of food coloring until you reach your desired shade.
- Take your fluffy oobleck outside or spread it on a large surface for messy play!
Notes
Store leftover oobleck in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days, but it’s best used fresh for the best texture. Supervise young children during play.
