Description

Delightful and visually stunning flower pretzels that combine creativity and flavor. Perfect for any occasion!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional toppings: sea salt, cinnamon sugar, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, stir warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter and flour. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into small pieces, about 2 ounces each.
  7. Roll each piece into a long rope, twisting and shaping into flower petals.
  8. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add coarse sea salt. Boil each pretzel flower for 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon.
  9. Place on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with optional toppings.
  10. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

You can mix in herbs or cheese for added flavor. Gluten-free blends can be used as a substitute for flour.
