Description

Delightful and aromatic flower oil preserves that enhance flavors in dishes with a touch of elegance.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of edible flowers (e.g., lavender, chamomile, or rose petals)
  • 2 cups of high-quality olive oil or other neutral oil
  • Clean, dry glass jar or bottle
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Optional: fresh herbs or spices (e.g., thyme, rosemary, or garlic)

Instructions

  1. Gently rinse the flowers under cold water to remove any dirt or bugs. Pat them dry with a clean towel, ensuring no moisture remains.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the flowers and oil over low heat. Heat the mixture for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant. Avoid boiling.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain out the flowers, capturing the infused oil in a clean bowl.
  4. Pour the strained oil into a clean glass jar or bottle, sealing it tightly. Store in a cool, dark place for up to three months.

Notes

Customize flavors with different edible flowers, fresh herbs, or spices. Adjust flower quantities for desired strength.
