Description
A fun and engaging experiment to explore buoyancy and density using dry erase markers.
Ingredients
- Clear container (like a glass or plastic jar)
- Water
- Liquid dish soap
- Floating dry erase markers (various colors)
- Optional: Food coloring
Instructions
- Fill a clear container about three-quarters full with water.
- In a separate bowl, mix a few drops of liquid dish soap with 1-2 tablespoons of water.
- Carefully place the floating dry erase markers in the water.
- Slowly add the soapy solution to the container and observe its interaction with the markers.
- Watch the floating effect and see if markers change position.
- Experiment with different markers or food coloring to see how these changes affect the results.
Notes
Try different liquids or water temperatures to observe variations in buoyancy and density.
