Description

Create colorful Fizzy Rainbow Rocks that fizz and pop in water. Perfect for a fun science project or crafting activity for all ages.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Silicone mold or ice cube tray
  • Mixing bowls
  • Spoon for mixing
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with a few drops of food coloring. Stir until evenly distributed.
  2. In a separate bowl, pour 1/2 cup of vinegar and add a few drops of food coloring.
  3. Carefully pour the colored vinegar into the dry baking soda mix, watching for fizzing and bubbling.
  4. Scoop the mixture into your silicone mold, packing it down firmly and smoothing the tops with a spoon.
  5. Place the filled mold on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and allow them to dry for 24 hours.
  6. Drop the rocks in water to enjoy the fizzing action and vibrant colors!

Notes

Try different color combinations and add essential oils for fragrance. Use flexible molds for easy removal of the rocks.
