Ingredients

- 1 cup Baking soda
- 1/2 cup Citric acid
- Various colors of Food coloring
- 1/2 cup Water
- Mixing bowls
- Cookie sheet or tray
- Silicone molds or ice cube trays
- Optional: Glitter for added sparkle
Instructions
- Prepare the mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of citric acid. Mix thoroughly until well-blended.
- Add color: Divide the dry mixture into smaller bowls based on the number of colors you want. Add 3-5 drops of food coloring to each bowl. Using your hands or a spoon, mix the colors into the mixture until evenly distributed.
- Add water: Slowly add 1/2 cup of water to the mixture, a little at a time. Mix until the consistency feels damp but not too wet. It should hold together when squeezed.
- Mold them: Pack the colored mixture tightly into silicone molds or ice cube trays. Press down firmly to ensure they hold their shape.
- Drying time: Allow the molds to set in a cool, dry area for at least 24 hours until hardened. Once dry, gently pop out the fizzing rocks.
- The big fizz: To enjoy your fizzy rocks, add them to a bowl of water and watch the colorful fizzing reaction!
Notes
Customize colors, add scents, or mix in glitter for a sparkly effect. Use different molds to create fun shapes!
