- 1 cup Baking soda
- 1/2 cup Vinegar
- Various colors of Food coloring
- 1/2 cup Cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Water
- Mixing bowls
- Baking tray
- Parchment paper or silicone mat
- Ice cube tray (optional)
- Measuring cups and spoons
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine baking soda and cornstarch. Stir well until evenly mixed. In another bowl, combine water with a few drops of your chosen food coloring. Mix until the color is well blended.
- Slowly pour the colored water into the dry mixture while stirring continuously. Once well mixed, the consistency should be moldable but not overly wet. Form the mixture into small rock-like shapes or use an ice cube tray for uniformity. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Allow the rock shapes to dry for a few hours or overnight. They should be hard to the touch once ready.
- To activate, place the dry fizzy rocks in a bowl and pour vinegar over them. Enjoy the display as they fizz and bubble, creating a colorful explosion!
Notes
Experiment with different food colors, scents, and shapes for personalized creations. Store dried rocks in an airtight container for longer shelf life.
