Description

Create a colorful eruption with this engaging DIY fizzing color volcano activity perfect for kids to learn about chemistry while having fun!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • Various colors of food coloring
  • 1 plastic bottle or cup
  • 1 tray or baking sheet (to catch overflow)
  • 1 funnel (optional)
  • Dish soap (optional, for extra fizz)

Instructions

  1. Choose a container and place a plastic bottle or cup in the center of the tray or baking sheet.
  2. Using a funnel, pour 1 tablespoon of baking soda into the bottle.
  3. Drip in several drops of food coloring of your choice.
  4. For added fizz, squirt in a little dish soap (optional).
  5. Slowly pour 1/2 cup of white vinegar into the container.
