A fun and colorful craft activity that mimics the bursts of fireworks using straws and acrylic paint.
Ingredients
- White cardstock or heavy paper
- Acrylic paint (various colors)
- Drinking straws
- Water (for thinning paint, if needed)
- Paper plates (for mixing paint)
- Old newspaper or plastic table covering (for easy cleanup)
- Optional: Glitter or metallic paint for added sparkle
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by laying down newspaper or plastic to protect your surface.
- On a paper plate, squeeze out small blobs of acrylic paint, mixing colors if desired.
- Take a drinking straw, dip one end in your paint, and bring the other end to your mouth.
- Position the straw over the cardstock and blow gently to create splatters and bursts.
- Allow the first layer to dry, then repeat with different colors and optional glitter or metallic paint.
- Once satisfied, set aside your artwork to dry completely.
