Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • Food coloring (variety of colors)

  • Cooking spray
  • Baking sheet or pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Candy thermometer
  • Whisk

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Attach a candy thermometer to the pot. Allow the mixture to boil without stirring, until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the pot from heat. Split the hot mixture into separate bowls, add food coloring and flavor extracts to each bowl, and mix well.
  5. Carefully pour the colored mixtures onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to swirl colors together for a marbled effect. Let it cool completely at room temperature.
  6. Once cooled, break the sugar into pieces and serve in a colorful container.
