Description

A colorful and engaging craft that mimics the vibrant displays of fireworks, perfect for kids and family activities.

Ingredients

  • Clear plastic cups or glass jars
  • Water
  • Vegetable oil
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Glass stirrer or spoon
  • Baking soda (optional)
  • Vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Cover your table with a plastic sheet or old newspaper to catch any spills.
  2. Fill the Cup: Pour about ¾ of the cup with water, leaving some room at the top for the ‘fireworks.’
  3. Pour the Oil: Carefully add vegetable oil to the cup until it reaches the top, watching it float on the water.
  4. Use a dropper or spoon to add drops of food coloring on top of the oil, observing the color effects.
  5. For an exciting reaction, mix a teaspoon of baking soda in a separate cup with vinegar and pour it into the main cup.
  6. Allow the colors to mix and swirl, creating a beautiful firework effect, and stir gently to see colors interact.
