Ingredients

  • Baking soda (1 teaspoon)
  • Kool-Aid powder (1 tablespoon, any flavor)
  • Vinegar (1/2 cup)
  • Water (1/2 cup)
  • Clear plastic cups or bowls
  • Baking sheet or tray (to catch spills)
  • Spoon or whisk (for mixing)
  • Food coloring (optional for extra vibrancy)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by covering your table with newspaper or a disposable tablecloth.
  2. Gather all materials in one area for easy access.
  3. In a separate container, mix 1/2 cup of water with 1 tablespoon of Kool-Aid powder and stir until completely dissolved.
  4. Place your clear plastic cups or bowls on the baking sheet and add 1 teaspoon of baking soda into each cup.
  5. Carefully pour the Kool-Aid solution into each cup with baking soda and watch the mixture fizz and erupt.
  6. Observe the swirling colors and listen to the fizzing sound as the reaction takes place.
