Description

Create enchanting glowing fireflies using simple materials, perfect for kids and adults alike. This craft sparks creativity while teaching about nature.


Ingredients

  • Black construction paper
  • Yellow or green tissue paper (or LED tea lights)
  • Glow-in-the-dark paint or markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Wire or pipe cleaners
  • Googly eyes (optional)
  • Decorative items (glitter, sequins, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Cut out an oval shape from the black construction paper for the body (4-5 inches long).
  2. Cut two larger wing shapes from the black construction paper.
  3. Glue the wings onto either side of the body and add googly eyes.
  4. For glow, glue tissue paper on the back, or use a small LED tea light or glow-in-the-dark paint.
  5. Create antennae with wire or pipe cleaners and attach them to the body.
  6. Add a hanger to display your fireflies around your home.
